It came as no surprise that the latest victim of the mud-slinging campaign perpetuated by Alfred Sant ended up being Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando.

Challenged by Dr Pullicino Orlando on various occasions to state any allegations of misconduct directly to his face, Dr Sant, in the most cowardly of fashions, chose to avoid this confrontation. Most probably he knew that if confronted, he wouldn't be able to answer.

I have had the honour of knowing Dr Pullicino Orlando for years now, and I can safely state that his political integrity will not be undermined by false allegations, especially those coming from a person whose leadership of the Labour Party over the last 16 years was characterised by continuous mud slinging and false allegations that have all been rebutted.

Shame on Dr Sant for rendering the political scene a slandering match instead of one that compares policies.

Incidentally, that is most probably why he resorts to such tactics: He has no policies to talk about!
