Studenti Demokristjani Maltin has urged students to do their duty and cast their vote on Saturday.

"Voting is not a privilege which one may choose to exercise or not, but indeed it is a duty towards our country and towards the further strengthening of the spirit of democracy, a principle which has always been at the very heart of SDM's principles," it said.

The student organisation called on students to make an informed choice based on the consequences of every option. Students should vote for that political movement which in the student's view will best respect the students' right to make his or her voice heard.

"SDM urges every student to vote for that political party whose promises are not pie in the sky but are concrete proposals which continue to build up on past and present gains.

"The best situation for the student can only be achieved through direct dialogue between the student and the politician who will be willing to hear what we have to say, value it and put it into action. For it is the average student who can truly portray the necessities we face as we aim to achieve our goals," it said.

Since students are also prospective workers, SDM also believes that students should place into the balance the proposals being set forward by the political parties as regards working opportunities and give preference to that party which through its political programme will create a situation of more work with better conditions.
