UCIM has launched the Fiat Panda Trekking in Malta, a car that boasts what the makers say are "stunning" off-road capabilities.

The car switches to four-wheel drive once the wheels begin to lose grip on the roads and is suitable for all sorts of imaginable terrain, be it rough roads, roads covered in mud or no road at all. It also includes both front and rear suspension.

Durable material surrounds the passenger and the car has shock absorbing capabilities on the exterior. Like most of the Fiat range, this model offers up to six airbags and three-point seatbelts with pretensioners and load limiters.

The car includes front and rear disk brakes with two independent cross over circuits for a shorter braking distance. The vehicle is also equipped with ABS with four active sensors, complemented with electronic brake distribution.

The Panda is equipped with the trusted Euro 4, 60 BHP 1.28 valve engine, one main factor being the impressive 6.6 litres it consumes per 100 kilometres.
