Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi this evening appealed to the nation to put the country’s interest first and vote for the party that is offering them a solid vision based on an equally solid track record.

Speaking at a mass meeting in the main street of Victoria, Dr Gonzi listed the main differences between the Nationalist Party and the Labour Party in opposition and insisted that his party is the one that really believes in the country’s potential and that of its people. He also insisted that for the PN – and this he described as the party’s creed - all Maltese and Gozitan citizens were one family.

"We are one nation and there is no distinction between any of us. I appeal to all of you, including the genuine Labourites and those who are hurt or those who are planning on not going to vote. Put the country’s interests first as well as the interests of your loved ones and your children because the decision is yours. Even those who are sceptical: trust us, we will deliver because we believe in you. A few days are left and every vote counts. We will continue doing our best and use till the last drop of our energy to go before people and explain our vision and ask for their trust. We are offering the best concrete vision for this country because together everything is possible,” he said in a passionate speech.

Addressing a large crowd, Prime Minister Gonzi mentioned the various projects carried out by the PN government over the years which included the Mgarr terminal, an industrial estate, a desalination plant, new ships for better transport between Malta and Gozo, new and upgraded schools, several European standard roads, the business incubation centre, a university branch, a sports complex and a sewage treatment plant, to mentioned a few.

"Gozo has always been at the centre of the PN’s attention. PN policies have brought these results. Malta and Gozo always improved when PN was in government and when MLP was there it feel behind. We are proud of what we did, especially for Gozo. Ten years ago we have another party in government and Gozo was put aside,” he said.
