The road building works follow an agreement reached with CENMED Ltd. which had developed Sta Marija Estate.
The roads to be rebuilt are Triq il-Palm, in-Nixxiegħa, il-Ħlewwa, l-Hena, l-Għaqda, is-Sliem, il-Pont, l-Alwetta, il-Ġojjin, Fuq il-Widien, ix-Xagħra, ta' Barra, il-Gardell, Daħlet id-Dalji, ir-Rundun, Daħlet is-Sardinell, il-Bufula, il-Bilbla, iż-Żebbug and l-Qortin.
The work has been spread over six period contracts and is expected to be concluded by the end of the year.
Mr Mugliett said that during this legislature 630 residential roads in 47 localities were built at a cost of €28 million. This averaged a road every three days, the minister said.
