With all due respect to everyone, as a floating voter I would really like to have the opportunity to ask all political leaders something about the near future which is as follows.
As unfortunate as it may seem we have quite a number of separated women who had to stop working while they were still married to have children and look after them, thus having missed paying some years of National Insurance contributions. The disadvantage to this is that whereas on retirement age the "man" will still be entitled to a full pension, the "woman" now separated is disadvantaged just because she does not have another option. Are there any plans by any political party contesting the election for such separated women, perhaps allowing them to pay backdated contributions in a special scheme? Would that not really make men and women equal?
