Much has been said about a possible coalition government after the next election. The smaller parties, especially Alternattiva Demokratika, have been insisting on the coalition proposal with vigour. They depict themselves as saviours of democracy.

However, Alternattiva, notwithstanding the presence of Arnold Cassola, himself a victim of a coalition government, is ignoring the latest insistence by the Italians on a vote to the big parties to emphasise stability and good governance.

AD's proposal for a coalition government is putting the party's interest first and before the national interest.
