Sant asks if Gonzi will investigate Pullicino Orlando
Dr Sant was speaking during the discussion programme Il-Ħadd ma' l-Aħbar, presented by Simone Cini, on One TV.
On Saturday, Dr Sant accused Dr Pullicino Orlando, "the green politician of the year", of corruption over a development permit for a nightclub, which could take 8,000 people, in the pristine Mistra valley, and outside development zone.
Dr Pullicino Orlando has rebutted these allegations and insisted that though he did own the land in question, it was rented out to third parties and he denied ever seeing the outline development application, or meeting the applicant.
"How can we believe that Pullicino Orlando didn't know the applicant, when it is Mepa's procedure to inform the land owner of the project? This whole thing stinks," Dr Sant said
Dr Sant also accused the government of disorganisation in the health sector, which was leading to huge waiting lists in the hospital.
A Labour government, through better consultation with all the parties involved, was planning to introduce a cooperation agreement with the private sector so that the load of surgeries would be shared and waiting lists cut down, he said. He also insisted that the government had discussed introducing payment for health services.
Education, gay rights, animal rights, and the cost of living were also tackled in the programme and Dr Sant ended with an appeal for people to remain calm in the run-up to the election.

Mr Zero Tolerance for Corruption has some nerve. Why don't we ask him what he plans to do about Vella and Mangion and their flats-on-the-side? And this was when they were in Opposition....

Only a pea brain will continue to endorse Sant's lowest of the low lies.
Antonia, no doubt will vote Labour and probably will be the first one to feel the pinch if Sant wins and raises her taxes, charge her for medicine, her husband loses his job, or, if lucky, he will keep his job but overtime at flat hour rate! Then, even a pea brain will realize the mistake which he or she has to bear for a full five years.
Sant is a two bit (cercur) charlatan, bankrupt of ideas, vindictive, false accuser, name caller and worse, ready to jeopardize Malta's progress and lose €855 million just for his egotistic purposes.
Can one believe that his own supporters do not just tell him to SHUT UP ? Can one imagine his 'shadow ministers' not telling him to wake up and smell the coffee? Shows you how good and reliable a Charlie Mangion, a Michael Falzon and others, are?
MLP voters have an imposter for a leader.
March 8 will deliver a verdict. Too bad that those who vote blindly for Labour will still continue to enjoy the benefits of another Nationalist administration.

Dear All,
Now that the facts are more clearer, do you still think that Dr.Sant did not say the truth???
Do you think that by shedding tears in front of a TV camera would change anything from the gravity of this case???
How can JPO be credible when he says that he does not know the person he has rented the land to, and that they had just an informal agreement??? In today's world this is hard to swallow.
In any case JPO shows at what a pitiful state our government is in.
No wonder this government is so detached from the people's needs!!!!

A Abela is suggesting that GonziPN or Nationalist supporters (which party please?) should not remain calm. mmm I smell negative incitement...back to the old habits of the extinct PN. Dear J Martinelli if it is not GonziPN's duty to investigate why didn't he forward this clear case to the Police?
VOTE GONZI PAY for Health Care and wave byebye Nature...ask JPO!!

JPO the green politician of the year has rented his land but he doesn't know to whom. He didn't know about the project but he knew to what stage/progress this project went up to in means of permissions and approvals. He didn't make it to Sant's press conference because he was hungry and was eating in a restaurant. MEPA's rules are that if a rented land is to be developed it needs the written approval of the owner in this case JPO. The land to be raped by this project on the land of JPO forms part of Natura 2000. But who needs natural heritage, we want constructions. Shame on you Dr. Sant for uncovering these atrocities on the eve of an election!!! You made JPO cry!!

This is simply disgustings. If PN are professional enough they should not allow Pullicino Orlando to contest thte elections. That would be what I call a serious party. As for JPO I thought he was more of a gentleman, crying on tv to attract sympathy! If this is the way he behaves when confronted with a problem he is not a politician.

How extremely relaxed and cool it is for Dr. Sant to say whatever he likes, to accuse whoever he likes on home ground with no one to oppose or question his statements. Very , Very easy !!!
After so may years in opposition I expect Dr.Sant and MLP to have all their homework ready, discussed agreed upon with whoever he said he discussed.
I expect Dr.Sant and labour govt. to start their action plan immediately if they are elected in power.
I refuse to hear statements like We shall discuss, We shall investigate, We shall study.
What was MLP doing for all these years in opposition.
PN was trying to govern a country , create jobs, attract investment, and all this with the constant backstabbing of the opposition.
It's true that mistakes were made but on the other hand in order not to do mistakes on can sit down and do NOTHING. In this way one is safe.
And MLP - Please stop saying on your advert in the website 'VOTE GONZI and pay for health care' This is not true. You have Dr.Gonzi's reply on this already so cut the cheap talk with the hope of gathering more votes.

Funny this guy? He has the information, he can go to the police with it as he should and expects the PM to do it. Sant's way of doing policy just rubs me the wrong way.

Is there any doubt that Dr Gonzi will investigate? Problem is - what happens if and when there is no proof of any irregularity?
Dr Gonzi has put his money where his mouth is and referred all allegations to the Commissioner for Police - in stark contrast to Dr Sant - who makes the allegations and runs away.....

The Malta Labour Party has been saying for months that it is prepared for the election and had dared Gonzi a number of times to call the election.
Now, just a few days before the election itself, all the MLP has done is thrown mud at Ministers and at Gonzi himself. After so many years in opposition one would have thought that they would have a well thought-out electoral programme.
Rather than slinging mud at PN in an attempt to convince us why we should not be voting for PN, they should be trying to convince us that they deserve our vote.
Clearly they do not think so themselves.

Dr Sant has no sense of dignity. He is clutching at straws and assassinating Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando’s character just as he did Michael Frendo. Just as in all the previous cases Dr Sant raised it is pure spin that damages without scruples - A closet street brawler who is afraid to walk out onto the street. All bluff!

I think the only person who should be investigated is Dr Sant himself. I have never seen a politician resort to such shameful tactics as Dr Sant.

Dr. Gonzi will NOT investigate Mr. Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando. It is not his role - it is a police responsibility .
No need to worry Dr. Sant. Mr. Pullicino Orlando, in a press conference which you chickened out of, declared for all the journalists that he has nothing to hide and welcomed any investigation by what you termed as 'a screen' (paraventu) anytime and without fear of anyone finding any irregularity. Mybe the shortchanged (over-time) elves at Super 1 forgot to bring you up to speed.
It is you, Dr. Sant who should be investigated for abetting your (maybe imaginary) law breakers who you screened since you felt that it was not responsibility! Hard to swallow!
You are the one running away from any accountability and moral responsibility. No decent man feels no qualms in smearing innocent fellow politicians and members of the public with apparent immunity. This is what is appalling - the public's inability to take you to task other than making you lose a few thousand euros for libel.
But then I forget. March 8 is an excellent opportunity to snuff your political candle and reduce you to a minute footnote in Malta's history.

A very interesting statement by Dr. Sant, inciting people to remain calm. How can Nationalists remain calm at false statements such as the one done on Pullicino Orlando? Are we to remain calm when are faced with facts which are not true?

Instead of Gonzi investigating Pullicino Orlando, and throwing mud at him, Dr Sant should investigate his sources prior to making statements!
