Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi this morning toured a dairy farm and renewed his commitment to continue to help farmers, in the context of EU rules.

He said a PN government would help farmers invest in their operations to improve their competitiveness and their product.

Dr Gonzi toured Azzopardi Dairy Farm, in Rabat, which has 130 cows and which over the past few years has seen investment in modern technology, with part of the investment paid for by the EU. The Prime Minister augured that all farmers would realize the importance of investment in new technology so as to improve their turnover while reducing hardship.

Dr Gonzi on Saturday also had a meeting with officials of the Farmers' Association.
