Magro Bros plants 200 trees in Gozo

Employees of Magro Brothers' group of companies each planted an indigenous tree on Mgarr Heights in Gozo, just after the new passenger terminal at Mġarr harbour was officially opened. Magro Brothers is the first organisation in Gozo to enrol in the 'Tree 4 You' planting campaign.

Four coaches of high-spirited staff of the Magro Brothers Group were each given a tree to plant. The trees included olive, pine and carob varieties and trees were tagged with employees' names.

For generations, Magro Brothers has been aware of its corporate social responsibilities and today this philosophy forms an integral part of their approach to business both in the agricultural sector and within the community at large. "We wanted to thank all our employees for their continued support and commitment towards the company's success and we believe that this activity will make our employees feel more proud to work for an organisation that cares for our environment," managing director John Magro said.

"Good practices of corporate social responsibility involve self-imposed environmental objectives. We currently have several programmes running to support the environment, including energy-saving schemes, battery-operated transport vehicles, water recycling, paper conservation and waste separation practices, to mention a few schemes which we already operate in-house."
