Woman critically injured in traffic accident

A young woman is in critical condition after a traffic accident in Triq Hamet in Xaghra, Gozo, last night.

The police said she was a passenger in an Opel Corsa which went out of control, crashing into a wall and an electricity pole.

The 19-year-old driver of the car, who is from Ghajnsielem, was not seriously injured, although he is receiving medical attention.

Magistrate Anthony Ellul is holding an inquiry.
