Vote for PN would be vote for stability - Gonzi
Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi said this morning that a vote for the PN next Saturday would be a vote for "stability, certainty, tranquility and normality."
In speeches at Vittoriosa and on the PN radio, Dr Gonzi said the differences between the PN and the MLP were as sharp as day from night, and while the PN was proud of its proposals and what it had achieved, the MLP was trying to make the people forget its 22 months in government, and its 10 years in opposition.
For this was the Labour party, with the same team, which five, not 50, years ago, had argued strongly that Malta should stay out of the EU and it was now saying it would seek fresh talks with the EU on the accession package.
The MLP under Dr Sant had frozen Malta's EU application and made a disaster of public finances. In opposition, it had proposed a delay of euro adoption, it was against low cost airlines and wanted to devalue the then lira.
Dr Gonzi said his government had not been perfect, and much still remained to be done, but an objective analysis clearly showed that Malta was making considerable progress. It had made a success of EU membership, as evidenced by robust economic growth which had translated into more jobs and more money in people's pockets. This was the momentum which the PN wanted to carry forward, and that was why is was proposing further tax cuts.
In contrast, the MLP was proposing a repeater class and a reduction of the fuel surcharge which would encourage waste, Dr Gonzi said.

Joe Galea, don't let yourself be brainwashed. Try to listen to the other side and don't write what others have told you.
Perhaps you should sometimes switch your TV to other stations, PBS, NetTV or Smash to open your mind on all the issues before making your own conclusions.

Looking at the last goverment ,it certainly had stability as no minister (except for Dalli) was forced to resign. The ministers never accepted responsibilty for what went on in their departments.Mind you Gonzi would have had a hard job to find replacements within his party because I'm sure he scraped the bottom of the barrel to come up with that lot.

I believe that it is high time that we put all our differences behind us and expressed a word of thanks to the Prime Minister and all his cabinet colleagues for all the work that was carried out over the past five years and that have provided a strong basis for the vast amount that lies ahead for the future.....as a tourism journalist my thoughts focus on the sustainable development of these islands. As members of the EU we have already benefitted from millions of euros to improve our life styles and we have approval for another 800 million over the next years.... these will certainly translate themselves into more and better jobs. Tourism will remain the main economic base for the islands but we need to have a stable and secure policy that will continue to create the investment that we have already experienced. My thanks go to Dr. Gonzi for this work and I augur that next week all those responsible for voting for the next legislature make the most appropriate choice for their future and for future generations. We are all responsible for our destinies and the way in which tourism reflects on our daily lives means that any improvement in this sector is an improvement for all of us, collectively and together!

Vote for PN would be a vote for:
Health service against payment; more corruption especially in MEPA, dictatorship (we already saw this in action when Super1 journalists were held hostages in order not to ask Gonzi any question), postponement of resits from september to november, rise in exam prices, etc. together with lies and more lies.
