FAA urges withdrawal of permits that violate planning policy

The environment NGO Flimkien ghal Ambjent Ahjar today welcomed the resignation of the Mepa Development Control Commission A board following the publication of the auditor's report showing irregularities in the granting of a permit for a supermarket outside the development zone in Safi.

It said the Development Planning Act should be amended to incorporate the final recommendation of the Mepa auditor for provisions to allow for the withdrawal or modification of a permit where an application would have been approved contrary to planning policy.
