Violence in Sliema
It was reported in most media that last Sunday evening the house of Alternativa Demokratika chairman Harry Vassallo was damaged by intolerant elements of our mostly civilised society.
I believe that this act of cowardice, intolerance and political thuggery should be condemned by all political parties. One may disagree with one's political adversaries as much as one likes, but freedom of political expression is a must in any democracy. Let's not try to shut up those we disagree with and hypocritically call ourselves European at the same time.

Maria Dolores Fenech... please take responsibility for your words.. and if you know who the persons were that vandalised Harry Vassollo's house come forward and report to the police...
If you have no proof of your allegation then it's not credible... keep your credibility and dignity dear... it's easier lost than earned

Why "intolerant elements" and not "intolerant PN Supporters"?
One wonders.......the truth hurts!

Can't argue with Mr. Licari, however describing a broken window as 'political thuggery' is a bit rich.
When private residences were ransacked, a newspaper building burned, political clubs damaged/set on fire and intimidation was the everyday mous operandi by a particular party, what were we, primitive apes?
This was one isolated incident which should not have happened and all political parties have already condemned it, but in my books it would not be classified as thuggery.
Let's not try to re-light a fire after this small spark has long been extinguished.
