Parliamentary Secretary Tony Abela yesterday filed two libel suits claiming that two articles published on the General Workers' Union weekly It-Torċa were libellous.

The first libel suit was filed against Jo Said and against Alexander Farrugia, the editor of It-Torċa, about an article that appeared on last Sunday's edition referring to what Mr Said was allegedly told by Nationalist MP David Agius during a meeting the two had in a coffee shop in Attard.

The second suit was filed against Mr Farrugia and It-Torċa journalist John Pisani over an article titled Direct order ta' €27,210 minn Tony Abela (€27,210 direct order by Tony Abela).
