Tourist arrivals in January grew by 23.4 percent compared to the same month in 2007 to reach 63,850, the National Statistics Office said today.

It reported increases in arrivals from Germany, France and Spain but there were drops in arrivals from Britain, Libya and Russia.

Total nights spent increased by 14.0 percent when compared to January 2007. The average length of stay was 8.0 nights, down by 0.6 nights when compared to the corresponding month a year ago.
