Unknown persons removed three of the four bolts holding one of the front wheels of the Zebbug mayor’s car, putting his life and that of pedestrians in danger, Zebbug council said.

In condemning the act, the council said that the last remaining bolt gave way soon after the mayor, Brian Bonnici, starting driving the car. The vehicle went momentarily out of control before coming to a stop. No one was injured. The car was damaged.

The police are investigating.
