Interactive boards have been introduced in two schools in Malta and another in Gozo as part of the Smartlearning strategy which is also seeing classroom computers being replaced, and their numbers increased.
The first three schools are the primary schools of Valletta and Victoria and the Girls Lyceum in Blata l-Bajda.
Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi today visited Valletta primary, where interactive boards have been installed in two classrooms. Computers are also being increased so that there will be one for every four students. The school has broadband internet and wireless systems to enable teachers to use their laptops more easily. Computers are also being introduced in the kindergarten classes.
Dr Gonzi was accompanied by Mrs Gonzi, Education Minister Louis Galea and IT Minister Austin Gatt.
