Everlasting exams!
For those of you whose lives seem to be taken over by exams, here are some ways to beat the stress
And even if you do not have exams coming up, the advice will be very helpful. When you are taking exams, particularly in the period before the exams and afterwards, waiting for the results, you may be quite stressed out. And it's worse if everyone around you has been insisting all the time that you study more and do well in your exams and don't waste time, because these exams are so important in your life.
Remember that these stressful days won't last forever and will soon pass! It's important that you study to do well in an exam. However you have many more qualities within you that exam results alone cannot show. Take some time to think of all the qualities and talents that you have.
To be able to study well, it is important to start early. Do a little bit every day throughout the year, then you will not have a big bulk of study to do just before the exam. If you haven't done so this time, don't panic but remember it next time.
Try to plan your after school time well, so that you have a balance between study, play and rest. All three are important.
On the day of the exam, eat a healthy breakfast, something not too heavy, you don't want stomach cramps in the middle of the exam! Choose food that will give you good vitamins for the day. This will help you concentrate.
Try to arrive for the exam a bit early, so that you have time to relax and are not anxious, that you are going to be late.
If, while you're waiting to start, your friends start talking about the exam and this makes you nervous, it's better to wait on your own and to keep calm instead.
During the exam, if you feel nervous, take a deep breath and calm down slowly. Start reading the exam questions carefully, because most errors occur because you have not understood the question clearly.
It's very important to allow sometime, just before the end of the exam, to read over the questions and the answers that you wrote.
Others before you have managed to cope and you will as well. Most of all never, ever forget that you are unique and precious no matter what! No exam can ever show you that.
