Update 2: Police investigate murder at San Gwann

The police have launched a murder investigation after a woman, Tereza Grech, 50, was found dead in Mensija, San Gwann this afternoon.

The woman was found dead in a pool of blood in her bedroom at about 3.30 p.m. after the police forced their way into her residence following a report made to the police station. Initial reports say she was stabbed. An autopsy will be held tomorrow to determine the cause of death.

The body was taken away in a police hearse at about 6 p.m.

One of her teenage daughters is being questioned by the police.

Magistrate Antonio Mizzi is holding an inquiry. Police Assistant Commissioner Paul Sammut is heading investigations.
