Firm plants 200 trees at Mġarr

Magro Brothers have planted over 200 trees on the hill overlooking Mġarr harbour in Gozo, in line with the company's commitment to corporate social responsibility.

The trees were planted by the company's own employees. The activity was purposely organised a few days after the opening of the new passenger terminal at Mġarr harbour.

Magro Brothers was the first company to join the Tree 4 U Campaign in Gozo. The planted trees included olive, pine and carob varieties. The trees were tagged with the names of the employees.

“We wanted to thank all our employees for their continued support and commitment towards the company's success and we believe that this activity will make our employees feel more proud to work for an organisation that cares for our environment “said managing director John Magro.

He said the company had several programmes to support the environment including energy saving schemes, battery-operated transport vehicles, water recycling, paper conservation and waste separation practices.
