The Information Technology Ministry is to launch an intensive publicity campaign to inform children and parents how to guard against child abuse on the Internet. An information packet will also be given to schoolchildren.

IT Minister Austin Gatt said that while the government wanted to more children to have access to computers and the Internet it was also important to ensure that children were not exposed to abuse.

The campaign is being conducted in association with Childnet International (UK).
