The Breast Care Support Group - Europa Donna recently held a Mass at St Agatha's Church, Rabat, on the occasion of the feast of St Agatha.

The Mass was led by Archbishop Paul Cremona, who had words of hope and encouragement to the congregation, most of whom have suffered with breast cancer. Mrs Mary Fenech Adami, the support group's patron, also attended.

Set up in 1989, the Breast Care Support Group is a non-governmental, non-profit organisation and has been active since. The group aims to support women who have suffered or are suffering from breast cancer and to raise awareness about breast cancer. It provides support at monthly meetings and organises activities for women with breast cancer and provides practical information for diagnosed women.

Information on breast self-examination is available at www.bebreastaware.org and in a free booklet. On request, talks are given at schools, factories and offices to encourage women to be breast aware.
