An outline application was submitted to the Malta Environment and Planning Authority for the laying of a submarine cable from Malta to Sicily (00266/08). The chosen site is School Street, next to St Paul's Bay primary school. Action should be taken immediately because if this cable is laid in St Paul's Bay harbour, it would be a good excuse for cruise liners not to berth there.
