Coalition not ruled out
Columnist Kenneth Zammit Tabona has come to a wrong conclusion saying that the Prime Minister ruled out a coalition with the Greens. What Dr Gonzi said is that a coalition "is not an issue".
It is obvious that if the election result requires a parliamentary coalition (say 32 - 31 - 2) then Dr Gonzi will not refuse to discuss a coalition with Alternattiva Demokratika. If that were so then all the PN's arguments about how scary Labour is would not hold any water. Mr Zammit Tabona may not have to vote with a gun to his head, after all.

Let's all stop talking about this coalition business, please. We know there's not going to be one, unless its MLPAD. It's worth it just to see Harry working with Freddie. How long will that last, I wonder?

Harry on this same paper today is saying something different. Never say never to the PN whom he loves to hate.

The Prime Minister, who has already ruled out a coalition with any party, was asked what decision he would take if the MLP had to win 32 seats in Parliament, with the PN winning 31 and AD winning two. Dr Gonzi replied that AD would form a coalition government with the MLP. He added that, in view of this, people who do not vote and those who vote for AD would be indirectly electing the MLP to office.
