What about art?

Not once have I heard any politician of either party mention anything that they have on their agenda to enhance the importance of art in Malta. Other EU countries actually invest in art. Here by comparison, the subject seems to be sent to the back of the class. What a shame.

Regardless of what has been done (St James Cavalier, Notte Bianca), we local artists and art enthusiasts who wish to further their knowledge on this ever evolving subject, still feel that our options here are very limited.

We most certainly need a new face for this post to upgrade the pace, so far so lame.

The post should be in the hands of someone who does not simply make appearances and speeches when necessary but who truly supports artists with the likes of proper gallery spaces and art education. Ideally, the Minister of Art and Culture, not just for Malta but anywhere, should be an artist himself.
