Opel has expanded its bestselling Astra range to seven models with the launch of the four-door Astra sedan.
Opel continues a tradition with this new notchback model, as the first two Astra generations were both available with four doors and a large, separate luggage compartment, United Automobile marketing manager Ryan Buttigieg said.
At 4.59 metres long, 1.75 metres wide and 1.46 metres high, the Astra sedan offers a luggage compartment volume of 490 litres, which expands to a maximum of 870 litres. It comes in four engine powers ranging from 90 to 140 horsepower (Hp). The new model is available in three equipment lines: Essentia, Enjoy and Cosmo. Standard safety features include front and rear disc brakes (ventilated in front), ABS, Cornering Brake Control, brake assist, as well as the fuel-saving electro-hydraulic power steering.
Variants can be further personalised with a selection of four equipment packages: visibility and light, winter pack, seat comfort pack, leather seats and electronic climate control with air quality sensor.
The Astra Notchback 1.6 litre 115hp petrol Essentia retails at €23,200 (Lm9,960), the Enjoy version at €26,000 (just over Lm11,000). The 1.7 CDTI diesel versions start from €26,800 (Lm11,500).
