A 25-year-old man was yesterday charged with biting off his brother's ear in an argument.

Magistrate Jacqueline Padovani heard Cliffton Cassar of Żabbar plead not guilty to seriously injuring his brother Jurgen.

The argument took place at around 11.30 p.m. last October 28, in Żejtun.

Mr Cassar was also charged with breaching the peace and being intoxicated to a point where he was unable to look after himself.

Lawyers José Herrera and Veronique Dalli appeared for Mr Cassar while lawyer Ian Farrugia appreared parte civile.
