Scottish leaders Rangers moved four points clear of Celtic after a goal in each half from Carlos Cuellar and Kris Boyd secured a 2-0 win at Kilmarnock yesterday.

Rangers took the lead when midfielder Barry Ferguson headed the ball across goal in 25 minutes for defender Cuellar to loop a header over keeper Alan Combe.

Former Kilmarnock striker Boyd hammered home a penalty after 63 minutes to make it 2-0 after defender Jamie Hamill handled.

Rangers top the standings on 59 points with Celtic second on 55.

Hibernian later fought back from a goal down at half-time to beat Aberdeen 3-1 ande move above them into fifth place on 35 points.

Zander Diamond whipped in the opener from close range in the 18th minute after Hibs failed to clear a corner. But Hibs midfielder Merouane Zemmama began the fightback, crashing home a 20-metre free-kick to level on 48 minutes.

Dean Shiels put Hibs ahead seven minutes later, following up after his first shot was parried by keeper Jamie Langfield, and Steven Fletcher headed a third in stoppage time.
