Labour leader Alfred Sant took the MLP electoral campaign to Gozo today, explaining the party's plans for the regional development of Gozo at a conference in San Lawrenz.

The Labour leader said a Labour government would set up a regional council for Gozo and a Gozo Tourism Authority to promote Gozo as a tourist destination. The sandy beaches at Marsalforn and Xlendi would be developed and new marinas would be set up. The helicopter service would be reintroduced and it will benefit from a government subsidy. Dr Sant also promised social housing and a zone for small industries. He also promised better hospital and sports facilities.

The Labour leader also visited a pig farm in Ghasri.
