The MaltaPost Naxxar branch will start to encash cheques issued by Department of Social Security including pension cheque as from Monday, the company said.

"Based on the response at this branch, MaltaPost will then be looking to extend the service to other localities."

Lombard Bank acquired a majority shareholding in Maltapost a few months ago.
