50-hour bicycle marathon

Marathons and bicycles have become synonymous with the Dun ?u?epp Zammit Boys' Junior Lyceum San ?or? Preca College.

All activities are focused to make this year's 50-hour marathon a success as in previous years. Throughout December, the school organised a wide array of activities at the Lyceum, not only as a means of recreation but, above all, to raise awareness and to collect money for the upcoming marathon.

In the first week of December, a group of students together with their Art teachers put up Christmas decorations at Villa Papa Lu?jani, a project that was aided by previous marathons.

This activity was warmly welcomed, not only by the staff and residents at the home, but especially by the students who had the opportunity to give out a helping hand during the festive season. Another activity held in December was a Christmas market where students and staff could taste delicacies offered at this time of the year in various countries, namely Malta, Italy, Germany, France, Spain and Arabic countries. The performance put up for the school's Prize Day, L-U?ura, was again staged during the Christmas Soirée, giving students the opportunity to show their talents once again.

The final weeks of the first term also saw a Casual Day and a Ftira Day, the proceeds of which were added to the funds for this year's marathon.

The 50-hour Bicycle Marathon is an important tool within the college which motivates students to help the less fortunate. They can have fun and be part of a great cause at the same time.

The marathon will take place on April 11, 12 and 13. Anyone wishing to help out can contact the school's committee on 2122 5661 or 2123 6227.
