Malta has signed agreements with Cyprus and Palestine on cooperation between their foreign ministries.

The agreements were signed this morning on the fringes of the EU-Arab League Meeting which is being held in Malta.

The Maltese foreign ministry said the agreement with Cyrpus is aimed to "deepen and widen" cooperation and dialogue between both ministries on bilateral, regional and international issues which are of common interest, the Maltese foreign ministry said. The agreement also refers to dialogue and consultations on issues related to the European Union and the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership.

The ministry said that a memorandum of understanding was also signed with Palestine on consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malta and that of Palestine in a bid to strengthen the historical ties of friendship and cooperation between them.
