Minister praises scouts

The values and principles on which the Scouts movement was built were needed more than ever before, Education Minister Louis Galea said during a seminar yesterday on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Scouts in Malta.

Dr Galea told the scouts at the seminar, that in a world were the spirit of community was weakening due to the importance to individualism, more scouts were needed as part of the formation and education of youngsters.

Dr Galea also met youngsters at a seminar organised by the National Youths Council on Education and Work, where he told them that the Government's investment in the Employment and Training Corporation was helping many young people find jobs and receive training for the work opportunities that were being created.
