The lawyer mentioned by a fraud suspect when he was giving a statement to the police does not exist, a police office specified in court.

A singer facing fraud and misappropriation charges told the police in a statement he used to receive money from a Gozitan farmer and then pass it on to a lawyer by the name of Angelo Farrugia.

Testifying on Thursday, Police Inspector Ian Abdilla told the court the lawyer's name was fictitious and was not the Labour candidate.
