Teleworking policy launched

A policy on teleworking in the public sector was launched by Solidarity Minister Dolores Cristina during a meeting with permanent secretaries this afternoon.

She said the policy followed a pilot project held over the past few months,

She was confident that the policy would be welcomed by many workers who needed to work from home because they had to care for their children or other members of their family, but did not wish to give up their careers.

The policy she said was also beneficial to employers because it would enable them to retain trained workers.
