A St Julians man was yesterday remanded in custody after he pleaded not guilty to stealing gold jewellery, cash, watches and household items from five houses in Sliema. Victor Stellini, 30, pleaded not guilty to stealing jewellery from the house of Lucia Fenech; cash, watches and a computer monitor from the house of Vincent Lewis Miceli; a plasma television set, a DVD player and some antiques from Antonio Preca; a radio and DVD player from Alfredo Borg and various items from Vincent Jarrat.

The items were allegedly stolen between January 8 and February 4 from houses situated in the same street. Police Inspectors Silvio Valletta and Joseph Mercieca prosecuted.
