My robot
What would you like a robot to do for you?
Some time ago we had a competition where we asked this question. As usual there were some very, interesting, inventive and amusing answers. Like this one from Corene Gatt, 11, of Marsaxlokk, who wrote: I would like him to make my bed and play with me and do some jigsaws, as I find it fun fixing them, and help me with my homework, as I have a lot to do.
No one likes homework James Borg, 10, of Mosta, and seven-year-old Jeremy Cauchi, of Mtarfa, would want their robots to do their homework. And Vinciana Vella, 10, of Paola, would not only like her robot to do her homework neatly, but also to study for her. Michela Micallef, 11, of Sliema, would choose a robot which could do all her chores. For Joan Formosa, 10, of Marsascala, a robot would be a special friend, who could help with her homework and her chores. And if Matthias Suda, 10, of Marsascala, had a robot it would only have to make his bed, pick up his toys and make his food. That, he writes, would be cool.
And Elena Brincat, seven, of Swieqi, would like her robot to clean up the rubbish that people throw on the roadside. Matteo Camilleri, nine, of Swieqi, writes that if he had a robot he would like it to play games with him. And Gabriel Bonanno, nine, of ?urrieq, would want the robot to help his mum with her housework. Since our grandparents died, she has no help from anybody and she works from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. and the rest at home.
