The executive of the Nationalist Party approved the party's electoral programme this afternoon during a meeting at the PN club in Fleur-de-Lys.
Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi said the programme was built on three pillars - The environment, education and the economy, with considerable importance also given to health and social solidarity, among others.
Dr Gonzi said the programme was the result of wide ranging consultations and was aimed at taking the country forward to the Vision 2015 which he had outlined.
He said that despite the progress made on the environment in recent years, there was a need for a leap forward in this sector.
In education, the PN government had already shown how it was investing heavily on an IT-based education system which would ensure that no one was left behind.
The proposals on the economy included the tax-cutting measures announced yesterday to further boost growth.
The programme is due to be published shortly.
