Giants win Super Bowl

The New York Giants celebrated one of the greatest Super Bowl upsets after toppling the previously unbeaten New England Patriots 17-14 on Sunday.

The game-winner came on a 13-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Eli Manning to wide receiver Plaxico Burress with 35 seconds left.

The Giants pulled off the upset with a ferocious defence that held down the high-powered Patriots' attack and two cool-headed fourth-quarter touchdown drives engineered by Manning.

The Giants (14-6) set an NFL record by winning 10 successive games on the road this season, including the three play-off games that put them into the Super Bowl.
