Three injured as man confronts robber

A would-be thief, a car owner and another man were injured in a scuffle after the thief was allegedly caught red-handed stealing from a car early yesterday morning.

The owner heard the alarm of his car, which was parked in Ubaldesca Street, Paola, and realised that someone was trying to steal from it.

He confronted the thief and the latter allegedly attacked him with a knife, the police said.

Another man went to the aid of the car owner and all three were injured in the ensuing scuffle. They were taken to hospital in an ambulance.

The condition of all three was not critical.
