Cable TV, internet and telephony at all hospital beds

Melita Cable have unveiled a home entertainment and telecommunications system for all in-patients at Mater Dei Hospital, enabling them to access digital TV and radio services, cable internet and VoIP telephony.

In-patients in more than 800 beds can select from one of three TV packages: Melita Active, Melita Connect or Melita World. The daily charge is €4 (Lm1.72), €7 (Lm3) and €8 (Lm3.43) respectively.

All three packages are inclusive of a 2Mbps Internet connection, Hello telephony services and 60 radio channels. All terminals in the hospital are equipped with features enabling viewers to pause, rewind and replay their favourite programmes at will.

Melita will also be providing the entertainment services for free with over 200 terminals in the hospital's common areas and up to 70 terminals in children's wards. It will also provide children with adapters enabling them to utilise their game consoles over the TV-bedside unit.
