Three injured as car thief is caught red-handed

Three men were injured this morning in a struggle which broke out after a thief was caught red handed trying to steal from a car in St Ubaldeska Street, Paola.

The police reported that the incident happened at 3.50 a.m. when the car’s owner was woken by the vehicle’s alarm.

He tried to stop a man who was trying to steal from the vehicle and was hit by a pointed instrument. Another man rushed to give assistance and was similarly injured, but the alleged thief was held. All three men had to be taken to hospital in two ambulances.

None of them is in critical condition.

Police investigations are continuing.
