Three fatalities and 979 non-fatal accidents at work were reported between October and December last year, the National Statistics Office (NSO) said yesterday.

The number of accidents was 4.5 per cent higher when compared to the same quarter in the preceding year. A man died at work in the same period in the preceding year.

Most work-related accidents occurred in the economic sectors of manufacturing (33.5 per cent), ­construction (14 per cent), transport, storage, and communication (12 per cent), and wholesale and retail trade (10.2 per cent), according to the NSO.
