Update 2: Children treated for shock after school van crash

One girl injured

Fourteen young school children and a van driver were treated for shock at Mater Dei Hospital after their school van crashed into a pole this morning.

The accident happened at 7 a.m. at the exit of the tunnels as the van was heading towards St Julians.

The police in an updated statement this afternoon said the van was driven by a 27-year-old woman. One of the children, a girl, was found to have suffered serious injuries and has been kept in hospital for further treatment. All the others have been released. (According to earlier reports none of the children had been injured).
