John Paul Grech, Ambassador of Malta to Germany, recently presented his credentials as non-resident Ambassador to Poland to Polish President Lech Kaczynski.

Dr Grech welcomed the news that Poland intends opening an embassy in Malta soon, possibly this year, adding that this was a clear enough demonstration of Poland's increasing interest in the island as well as in the opportunities existing for both countries through collaboration in political, investment and tourism promotion as well as culturally related, activities.

During a private audience, President Kaczynski and Dr Grech touched upon Polish-Maltese EU relations; Poland and Malta's commitment to moral and ethical values within the EU and beyond; the future of the EU beyond the Reform Treaty; and the need to strengthen Polish-Maltese bilateral relations.
