A 34-year-old was conditionally discharged for three years after he pleaded guilty to slightly injuring his former girlfriend on May 5, 2005.

Andy Andrea Scholtes of St Paul's Bay was also originally charged with holding her against her will for five hours but the prosecution withdrew this charge during the course of the proceedings.

Police Inspector Therese Sciberras prosecuted.

Lawyer Roberto Montalto appeared for Mr Scholtes.
