Social workers win awards

Twelve social workers have been presented with the Social Work Award for 2007 by the Malta Association of Social Workers (MASW).

Maria Camilleri, Colette Farrugia Bennett, Katya Cachia, Rosaline Debono, Manuel Mangani and Patrick Harvey were nominated by their colleagues for displaying outstanding social work skills.

Special awards were given to: Marika Borg Wirth, the outgoing chairman of MASW and now chairman of the Malta Social Work Profession Board, in recognition to her long years of service on the association's executive committee; Pat Bonello and Agnes Bezzina, for their contribution on the Social Work Profession Board as representatives of the association; and Maureen Cole, Marceline Naudi and Joanna Xuereb for their contribution on the scientific committee of the first Social Work National Conference.
