Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert told Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas today that the Jewish state would keep allowing humanitarian supplies to enter the Gaza Strip, an Israeli official said.
"They spoke about the need to prevent a humanitarian crisis in Gaza," Mr Olmert spokesman David Baker said after the leaders met for two hours in Jerusalem. He said they did not discuss at length the issue of Gaza's border crossing with Egypt, which militants smashed open last week.
