Michael Zammit Cutajar, Ambassador for Climate Change, will deliver the keynote speech at an international conference on climate change diplomacy on February 7 and 8.

The event, at the Coastline Hotel, Salina, is organised by Diplo Foundation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Foreign Minister Michael Frendo will inaugurate the conference.

Participants will discuss traditional and innovative approaches used in climate change diplomacy, the training and other needs of small states, among other issues.

Local speakers include Martin Scicluna of the National Commission for Sustainable Development, Dr Charles Sammut from the University of Malta, and Federation of Industry president Martin Galea.

International speakers, some of whom contributed to the Bali Summit, include Aubrey Meyer, from the Global Commons Institute, Alejandro Litovsky, a senior advisor with AccountAbility, and Shane Tomlinson, from Third Generation Environmentalism.

DiploFoundation will draw from its panel of experienced diplomats, like Dr Alex Sceberras Trigona, Ambassador Aldo Matteucci, and Ambassador Kishan Rana, all faculty members.
